The KYB KG5421 is a high-pressure monotube shock absorber designed for increased damping performance. It features a gas-charged design for fade-free operation and instant response. The shock absorber has an ultra-smooth triple chrome-plated piston rod to reduce seal wear and improve steering response.

The KYB KG5421 Gas-a-Just rear shock absorber is engineered to upgrade the performance and handling of select Ford E-250 and E-350 vans. Its high-pressure monotube design with nitrogen gas construction eliminates aeration, ensuring consistent performance and quicker response times, even under demanding driving conditions. This offers a firmer, more responsive ride, improving the vehicle's handling and cornering ability while reducing body roll and sway for enhanced stability. The Gas-a-Just shocks feature velocity-sensitive valving that automatically adjusts to changing road conditions, delivering precise control and stability. The seamless working cylinder, manufactured from a single piece of steel, reduces leak potential and enhances durability, while the triple-chrome plated piston rod provides strength and corrosion resistance. Key specifications include a compressed length of 14.37 inches, an extended length of 23.11 inches, and a stroke length of 8.74 inches. The lower mount type is E2 (12.8x38) and the upper mount type is S1. These rear shocks are specifically designed for Ford E-250 Econoline, E-250 Econoline Club Wagon, E-350 Econoline Club Wagon, and certain F-series models from the mid-1970s through the early 1990s (exact years and trims vary by model, typically RWD configurations).
