The Gates VVS185 is an engine variable valve timing (VVT) solenoid designed for precise control of an engine's valve timing system. It features 12V electromagnetic activation and a compact housing with specific dimensions, including a length of 5.63 inches and a width and height of 0.953 inches.

This solenoid is engineered as a direct replacement, requiring no modifications for installation. It includes blade-type terminals, with two male terminals and one female connector, for straightforward electrical connections. The shaft diameter is 0.787 inches (20mm).
