The Gates 3VX550 is a cogged wedge V-belt designed for high horsepower applications where space or weight is a constraint. It features a Super HC Molded Notch construction that provides a superior combination of flex and load-carrying capacity, capable of transmitting up to three times the horsepower of comparably sized belts. This belt is suitable for industrial heavy-duty, narrow section V-belt drives, offering increased transmission efficiency for more compact and economical drive designs.

The belt is constructed with flex-bonded tensile cords made of polyester, vulcanized into a solid unit for high resistance to tensile and flexing forces, fatigue, and shock loads. It also features precision-ground straight sidewalls for a uniform wedging action and molded notches to reduce and evenly distribute thermal and bending stresses. The belt is oil and heat resistant, and RMA static conductive.
