The Gates 3/B81 is a Classic Banded V-Belt featuring a patented single-layer Flex-Weave Cover for extended life, protecting the belt core from oil, dirt, and heat, and making it suitable for clutching applications. Its Flex-Bonded Cords utilize a proprietary material blend to strongly bond polyester cords, ensuring uniform load distribution and absorption of bending stress without cord deterioration. The belt's Gates Curves optimize the cross-section for proper cord support and full contact with the pulley, leading to uniform loading, wear, and increased belt life. It meets RMA oil and heat resistant standards, as well as RMA static conductivity requirements. The 'B' section indicates a top width of 21/32 inches (0.656 inches, commonly referred to as 5/8 inch) and a thickness of 13/32 inches (0.406 inches). The '81' signifies an inside circumference of 81 inches, resulting in an outside circumference of 84 inches.
