The Genesis Offroad Gen 3 Dual Battery System is engineered to provide a robust power solution for your 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK. This system features a pre-wired, heavy-duty battery combiner that intelligently manages charging for both your primary cranking battery and an auxiliary battery. It automatically links the batteries in parallel when the engine is running, allowing the alternator to charge both, and then separates them once the voltage drops below ~12.7v for a minute. This ensures your essential starting power remains protected, while accessories connected to the system's bus bars draw from the second battery, preventing the cranking battery from being drained. The GEN 3 Power Hub is the core of this system, rated for 300 amps continuously, 500 amps for 5 minutes, and up to 2,000 amps for 5 seconds, with a minimum operating voltage of 8 volts. It includes positive and negative bus bars with three different stud sizes (3/8", 5/16", and 1/4") for heavy cables and three #10 screws for smaller ring terminals, making accessory connections straightforward. The kit utilizes 2-gauge pure copper welding cable for its flexibility and conductivity, paired with tin-plated pure copper lugs and adhesive-lined heat shrink for enhanced durability and corrosion resistance. Installation is designed to be manageable for DIY enthusiasts, typically taking 2-3 hours, and a steel battery tray is included for secure mounting. This dual battery system is compatible with all Jeep JKs from 2007 to 2018. Specific engine compatibility includes the 07-11 3.8L, 12-18 3.6L, European diesel (LHD only), and various Hemi (5.7L, 6.1L, 6.4L) and LS engines. It also accommodates several aftermarket snorkel and supercharger brands, though it is not compatible with the River Raider cowl snorkel. The system requires Group 34 batteries, and notably, Optima batteries are not compatible. For Right Hand Drive JKs, a specific part number (131-JKDBK-RHDG3) is available.
