The Ford Performance Gen 4 Coyote Crate Engine represents the latest evolution of the 5.0L Coyote V-8, sourced directly from the 2024 Mustang GT. This all-aluminum powerhouse boasts 480 horsepower and 415 ft.-lb. of torque (with premium fuel), achieved through advanced technologies like direct and port fuel injection, twin independent variable camshaft timing (Ti-VCT), and dual 80mm electronic throttle bodies. Constructed for robust performance and durability, the engine features a lightweight aluminum block with plasma transferred wire arc spray weld liner coating, cross-bolted main bearing caps, and thick main bearing bulkheads for superior bottom-end strength. It utilizes hypereutectic aluminum pistons, sintered steel connecting rods (similar to those found in the BOSS 302 Mustang), and a forged steel crankshaft. The high-flow aluminum cylinder heads are equipped with dual overhead camshafts (DOHC) and four valves per cylinder, along with variable intake and exhaust camshaft timing for optimized breathing. This crate engine includes an engine harness and a production flexplate, making it suitable for project car installations. It is designed with engine mount bosses and a bell housing mount pattern that are common to 5.0L modular engines. Please note that the vehicle harness and PCM are not included and must be sourced separately; Ford Performance M-6017-M50DA Control Pack is recommended for this purpose.
