The Texas Speed & Performance Gen 5 L83 5.3L Stage 1 V2 Low Lift Camshaft is engineered to deliver a noticeable performance boost for your 5.3L L83 engine. During testing on an in-house SuperFlow 902 engine dyno, this camshaft achieved impressive gains of 54 horsepower and 25.0 lb-ft of torque at the flywheel, utilizing an otherwise stock 5.3L L83 engine. It is recommended for use with Manton Conical Valve Springs, making it one of the most affordable performance camshaft packages available on the market. This cam offers a slight, characteristic lope at idle and is well-suited for customers seeking improved performance that can still be daily driven without issues. The optimal operating RPM range for this camshaft is between 1800-6400 RPM. The installation of this camshaft requires upgraded valve springs. However, it does not require an aftermarket stall converter or upgraded rear gears, simplifying the installation process for many users. The desired compression ratio for this cam is stock. The product is not legal for sale or use in the state of California. This camshaft is confirmed to fit 2015-2026 V8 Tahoe models with a 5.3L engine, and 2018-2026 V8 Tahoe models with a 6.2L engine.
