The Texas Speed & Performance Gen V 5.3L Stage 1 L83TR-1 Camshaft is engineered for enthusiasts seeking a significant horsepower increase for their Gen 5 L83 5.3L engine without sacrificing driveability. This camshaft retains the engine's Variable Valve Timing (VVT) system, which allows for automatic optimization of camshaft timing based on RPM. This technology enables the engine to advance the cam in lower RPMs for enhanced torque and retard it in upper RPMs for improved horsepower, resulting in a broader power curve. The L83TR-1 camshaft also includes provisions to remove the factory AFM/DOD (Active Fuel Management/Displacement on Demand) system that deactivates cylinders.
