The Katech Gen V L83 & L86 Wet Sump Oil Pump is designed for LT-based truck engines, delivering increased oil volume and pressure compared to standard LT car oil pumps. This pump replaces the factory powdered metal gear with a precision-machined 4140 billet steel gear for improved durability. Based on the OEM internal crank-driven oil pump design, it integrates with the Gen V LT oiling system and provides higher output.

This pump is supplied as a brand new assembly with no core required. It is a direct replacement for L83 and L86 wet sump engines. When used in car applications like LT1 or LT2 platforms, calibration changes may be required to disable oil pump-related diagnostic trouble codes, and it will result in higher than OEM oil pressure.

The Katech Gen V L83 & L86 Wet Sump Oil Pump is a high-volume upgrade engineered for LT-based truck engines, offering superior oil volume and pressure over standard LT car oil pumps. It features a precision-machined 4140 billet steel gear, replacing the less durable factory powdered metal gear to enhance reliability under demanding conditions and sustained RPMs. Designed as a direct replacement for L83 and L86 wet sump engines, this pump maintains the factory internal crank-driven oil pump configuration while providing enhanced performance characteristics. It is supplied as a brand new assembly, eliminating the need for a core charge. The pump is proudly engineered, manufactured, and assembled by Katech Engineering in Clinton Township, Michigan. For applications utilizing LT1 or LT2 car platforms, this pump can be used, but it requires proper calibration to disable oil pump-related diagnostic trouble codes. Installation in these applications will lead to oil pressure exceeding OEM specifications.
