Gen2 Plug and Play Engine Management System

The AMPEFI MSPNP2-MM9093 is a Gen2 Plug and Play Engine Management System engineered for the 1990-1993 Mazda MX-5 Miata with a manual transmission. This system provides a fully plug-and-play installation, meaning no wiring is necessary for basic functionality, with an average installation time of under one hour. A Miata base map is pre-loaded to assist with starting the engine on the first attempt. This ECU supports most aftermarket wideband sensors and allows for real-time tuning and data logging via a laptop connection. It features 16x16 fuel tables and 12x12 ignition tables for high-resolution tuning, along with multiple acceleration enrichment strategies and closed-loop idle speed control. The system also includes air conditioner control and can support up to 4 sequential fuel injector channels, though a minor wiring change may be needed for sequential injection on factory-wired cars. Onboard peak and hold drivers accommodate both high and low impedance injectors without an external ballast resistor. The MSPNP2 allows for the removal of the stock airflow meter and the addition of a variable TPS without special modifications. It also includes 12x12 air-fuel ratio target tables for precise tuning with a wideband O2 sensor, a built-in 2-step rev limiter/launch control with flat shift, real-time barometric correction, and an internal 4-bar MAP sensor capable of reading up to 44 PSI of boost. Additional features include overboost protection, closed-loop boost control (requires a boost solenoid kit), a knock sensor input with adjustable sensitivity and headphone output for listening, table switching for on-the-fly map changes, flex fuel sensor input, and a CANBus connector for interconnecting other MegaSquirt-compatible devices.
