Gen2 PnP ECU

The MegaSquirt Gen2 PnP ECU is a standalone engine management system specifically designed for the 1990-1993 Mazda MX-5 Miata with a manual transmission. It provides a fully plug-and-play installation, meaning no wiring is required for basic functionality, and the average install time is under one hour. This ECU offers advanced tuning capabilities, supporting most aftermarket wideband sensors for real-time tuning and data logging through a laptop connection. It boasts high-resolution tuning with 16x16 fuel tables and 12x12 ignition tables. Additional features include multiple acceleration enrichment strategies, closed-loop idle speed control, and air conditioner control. Further enhancing its functionality, the Gen2 PnP ECU supports up to 4 sequential fuel injector channels, though a minor wiring change might be needed to enable sequential injection as factory wiring may not support it. Its onboard peak and hold drivers are compatible with both high and low impedance injectors, eliminating the need for an external ballast resistor. This system also allows for the removal of the stock airflow meter and the addition of a variable TPS without special modifications. For precise tuning and table trim, it includes 12x12 Air Fuel Ratio Target Tables when used with a wideband O2 sensor. The ECU comes equipped with a built-in 2-step rev limiter/launch control with flat shift capability, real-time barometric correction, and an internal 4-bar MAP sensor capable of reading up to 44 PSI of boost. It also features overboost protection, closed-loop boost control (requires a boost solenoid kit), and a knock sensor input with adjustable sensitivity, including a headphone output to listen for knock during tuning. The table switching input allows for on-the-fly map changes for different fuels or nitrous activation, and an input for a flex fuel sensor enables switching between E85 and gasoline. A CANBus connector facilitates interconnection with other MegaSquirt-compatible devices for expanded functions like EGT input or automatic transmission control.
