GEN2 PnP ECU

The MegaSquirt Gen2 PnP ECU (MSPNP2-MM9900) is a standalone engine management system engineered for the 1999-2000 Mazda MX-5 Miata with a manual transmission. This system provides a fully plug-and-play installation experience, meaning no wiring is required for basic functionality, with an average installation time of under one hour. It comes with a pre-loaded base map to facilitate engine startup. This ECU supports real-time tuning and data logging via a laptop connection and is compatible with most aftermarket wideband sensors. It features 16x16 fuel tables and 12x12 ignition tables for high-resolution tuning, along with multiple acceleration enrichment strategies and closed-loop idle speed control. The system also includes air conditioner control and onboard peak and hold drivers that support both high and low impedance injectors without needing an external ballast resistor. It allows for the removal of the stock airflow meter and the addition of a variable TPS. Advanced capabilities include 12x12 Air Fuel Ratio Target Tables for precise tuning, a built-in 2-step rev limiter with launch control and flat shift functionality, and real-time barometric correction. It also has an internal 4-bar MAP sensor capable of reading up to 44 PSI of boost, overboost protection, and closed-loop boost control (requiring a boost solenoid kit). The ECU supports table switching for on-the-fly map changes and includes an input for a flex fuel sensor, enabling seamless switching between E85 and gasoline. A CANBus connector allows for interconnection with other MegaSquirt-compatible devices. Important compatibility notes specify that this model is not compatible with VVT engine/head swaps. For VVT control, the MSPNP Pro is recommended. Minor wiring modifications may be needed to enable sequential injection if the factory harness was not pre-wired for it.
