The VS Racing Gen3 50mm Wastegate represents a significant revision in wastegate technology, designed for enhanced performance and control. This external mechanical wastegate utilizes a new piston design engineered for superior CO2 and boost control stability, particularly when using dome pressure. Its black anodized aluminum top cap offers quick and easy spring access via a v-band connection, while the robust cast stainless steel base ensures durability. Out of the box, this unit includes pre-installed 4 and 6psi springs, providing a combined 10psi capability, though the full open pressure cracking point is approximately 8psi. For added installation and configuration flexibility, especially with dome pressure sensors, the wastegate is equipped with two upper and two lower air ports. The inlet and outlet flanges are designed for a 2″ pipe, and all necessary hardware is included for installation. Installation instructions emphasize the critical step of fitting the fire ring into the base of the gate to prevent leaks between the v-band and WG flange. For spring pressure setups, the pressure source should connect to one of the bottom ports, with the other capped. One top port should be left vented, and the other capped. For electronic/dome pressure setups, the input from the pressure source should be teed into the bottom port, with the other bottom port capped. The solenoid output connects to one of the top ports, while the second top port is capped if not used for a dome pressure sensor.
