GEN5 SC Series Twin Disc Clutch

The Monster Clutch Co. GEN5 SC Series Twin Disc Clutch is engineered for high-horsepower applications, capable of handling up to 1000 RWHP/RWTQ. It features ceramic-based friction discs, replacing traditional carbon organic materials, to provide exceptional power capacity and durability. The clutch assembly is built around a modified factory GM LT1 pressure plate setup, with adjustments to lift, release, and plate load for enhanced performance. This twin-disc design is compatible with factory GM hydraulics and aims for a clean release up to 8000 RPM. The included 24 lb billet steel flywheel is CNC machined and precision balanced to less than 0.100 OZ/IN, contributing to reduced rotational mass and reliable operation under extreme conditions. This clutch kit is recommended for racing or aggressive street applications, particularly those with power adders like turbochargers, superchargers, or nitrous systems. However, it is not intended for daily driving unless the driver is tolerant of an aggressive clutch feel, which can include chatter and shudder during take-off and an on/off engagement. Installation requires mechanical expertise and is estimated to take approximately 4 hours. The package includes the clutch assembly, ceramic discs, billet steel flywheel, pilot bearing, alignment tool, and necessary hardware. Proper break-in is essential for optimal performance and longevity. This clutch is designed for various Chevrolet applications, including the Camaro Gen 5 and Corvette C5 & C6 models (excluding ZR1), and supports a wide range of modifications from bolt-ons to stroker engines.
