The Motorcraft® MERCON® ULV is a premium-quality automatic transmission fluid recommended by Ford Motor Company. This ultra-low viscosity fluid is manufactured with high-viscosity index, premium-quality, hydroprocessed base oils and specially designed performance additives. The fluid also features improved shear stability for less viscosity loss over its lifespan and enhanced low-temperature fluidity, ensuring proper transmission function in all conditions. It further protects against wear, inhibits the formation of gum, sludge, and lacquer, and prevents rust and corrosion. The fluid is dyed red for easy leak detection. Due to its ultra-low viscosity, it is crucial *not* to use MERCON® ULV in applications specifying other fluid types, including MERCON® V, MERCON® SP, MERCON® LV, Premium Automatic Transmission Fluid (WSS-M2C924-A), CVT Transmission Fluid (WSS-M2C933-A), FNR5 Automatic Transmissions Fluid (Mazda M5), Duel Clutch Transmission Fluid (WSS-M2C200-D2), or Type F (ESW-M2C33-F). Always consult your Owner Guide, workshop manual, or transmission fluid charts to confirm the correct application.
