GenV EALV40 40mm Electronic Anti-Lag Valve

The Turbosmart GenV EALV40 Electronic Anti-Lag Valve is engineered for motorsport and high-performance use, offering a "fresh air" bypass system to reduce turbocharger lag. This electronic valve bypasses charged fresh air from the turbo directly into the exhaust manifold before the turbine wheel when the throttle is closed. This process allows for safer turbocharger spooling by avoiding the high engine stresses associated with throttle-based anti-lag systems. The valve features a 40mm diameter and a purpose-designed actuator housing. Construction includes a Nitronic 60 valve guide and a high-temperature 347 SS body. The eALV40 boasts fully electronic actuation, negating the need for complex solenoids and tanks found in older pneumatic systems. It includes an onboard analog 0-5V valve position sensor, an onboard analog 0-5V actuator temperature sensor, and an onboard digital (PWM) valve position sensor. The actuator position is user-adjustable, and strap-type V-band clamps ensure secure fitment. Multiple fittings are available for easy installation and fabrication. To implement the anti-lag strategy, this valve requires additional hardware and ECU tuning. A charge canister to hold boost or vacuum is needed, typically activated via a check valve system. A 4-port electronic solenoid is commonly used to control the actuator. Unlike a traditional external wastegate, the eALV40 is designed with tighter tolerances for more accurate valve control, as it handles cooler bypass air rather than hot exhaust gases. This system also maintains vacuum for brake assist systems, which can be lost with throttle-kick anti-lag. This product is supplied with the eALV40 valve, an un-terminated flying lead, valve seat, inlet and outlet V-band clamps, a 1-1/2" (38.1mm) OD inlet hose adapter, a C spanner/collar tool, an inlet O-ring, and a Turbosmart decal.
