The White Rodgers 586-902 is a glow plug relay, also known as a Monster GPR. Originally manufactured for large sound studio amplifier applications, it features a 12-volt continuous duty coil and a contact rating of 200 amps continuous and 600 amps inrush.

The White Rodgers 586-902, also referred to as the Stancor 586-902 Monster Glow Plug Relay (GPR), is an aftermarket replacement designed to offer enhanced longevity and performance compared to stock units. Originally developed for demanding applications in large sound studio amplifiers, this relay boasts a robust construction suitable for heavy-duty use. This glow plug relay features a 12-volt continuous duty coil and a substantial contact rating, capable of handling 200 amps continuously and up to 600 amps for inrush current. Its design aims to ensure full and consistent voltage delivery to the glow plugs, crucial for reliable cold-weather starting. Installation requires careful attention to terminal lug tightening. The contact terminals should be torqued to a maximum of 60 inch-lbs, while the coil terminals require 12-18 inch-lbs maximum. Overtightening the small terminal lugs can cause them to shear off, and such damage will not be covered under warranty. It is important to note that this relay is not compatible with Late 1999-2003 California emissions trucks or Excursions, which typically use a Glow Plug Control Module instead of a GPR. Buyers should verify their existing system before ordering. Relays are not returnable once opened.
