GM 14 Bolt 3.73 Ratio Rear Axle Assembly

The Zumbrota Drivetrain RAA435-1663B is a fully remanufactured axle assembly engineered for 1990-2000 GM 3500 Pickup trucks equipped with the GM 14 Bolt rear axle. This assembly comes with a 3.73 gear ratio (GT4 option) and a 10.5-inch ring gear, tailored for optimal performance in 2WD, Single Rear Wheel (SRW) configurations. Each Zumbrota axle assembly undergoes a rigorous remanufacturing process to ensure precision and reliability. The process includes thorough inspection of axle tubes for straightness, cracks, and surface wear. All internal components, such as ring and pinions, internal gears, clutches, and carriers, are inspected and tested. Crucially, all bearings, seals, crush sleeves, pinion nuts, and shims are replaced with new parts. The gears are meticulously inspected for optimal tooth contact patterns and set to the correct rolling torque using inch-pound measurements, ensuring precise setup, longevity, and quiet operation. Zumbrota Drivetrain utilizes an exclusive hydro-blast rinse and sandblasting procedure on internal and external parts, followed by a proprietary shot-peened deep cleaning process. This comprehensive cleaning method sets a high standard for axle assembly remanufacturing, restoring housings to an OEM finish. This particular axle assembly is designed for standard 2WD SRW applications and specifically excludes models with a 9000-9200 GVW. It does not feature posi-traction.
