The ATK HP05 Chevy 1987-1995 TBI 383 Stroker Base Engine (SKU: HP05) is a high-performance, remanufactured engine designed for Chevy Trucks and SUVs equipped with a 350 TBI engine from 1987 to 1995. This engine features an OE roller block, 4-bolt main, and a 1-piece rear seal, originally from 1996-2000 models. It boasts a 4.040” bore and 3.750” stroke, resulting in a 383 cubic inch displacement. Key internal components include a Scat Nodular Iron crankshaft (external balance rear, internal balance front), Scat I-Beam 5.7” connecting rods with ARP 8740 bolts, and hypereutectic pistons achieving a 9.5:1 compression ratio with moly rings. The hydraulic roller camshaft has specifications of 198/210 duration at .050” lift, .435”/.462” valve lift, and a 116 LSA, working with a double roller timing chain. It utilizes OE TBI cast iron cylinder heads with 67cc chambers and 1.94” intake/1.50” exhaust valves, complemented by stamped steel 1.5 ratio rocker arms. The engine comes with a rear sump 5-quart oil pan (note: not suitable for Chevelles with steering behind the crossmember, some Corvettes, and 1962-1967 Chevy II’s) and a Melling STD Volume oil pump. It is rated at 320 horsepower and 395 lb-ft of torque.
