The Mahle 42157CP.040 is a set of premium piston rings designed for Gen III/IV 6.0L LS engines with a 4.040" bore. These rings are installer-friendly and feature pre-lapped surfaces for immediate seating, minimizing break-in time. Optimized ring materials, coatings, and tension reduce friction and extend engine life. The compression rings have a barrel-faced contact area for efficient compression and a CNC-controlled gap chamfer. Intermediate rings utilize a reverse twist design for better groove sealing, and the CP-20 oil ring assemblies include a 20-degree ear angle for optimal side seal.
