GM 8.0" 3.42 Ratio 2WD Rear Axle Assembly

The Zumbrota Drivetrain RAA435-184-P is a remanufactured axle assembly specifically designed for 2009-2012 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon models equipped with the GM 8.0" axle and a 3.42 gear ratio. This unit is for 2WD vehicles and features a semi-floating axle type. Zumbrota Drivetrain rebuilds these axle assemblies to high standards of precision and reliability. The process involves a comprehensive inspection of all components, including checking axle tubes for straightness and housings for surface wear or cracks. Internal parts such as ring and pinions, internal gears, clutches, and carriers are 100% inspected and tested. To ensure optimal performance and longevity, all bearings, seals, crush sleeves, pinion nuts, and shims are replaced. The gears are meticulously inspected for proper tooth contact patterns, and rolling torque is precisely set using inch-pound measurements. Correct gear backlash is established to guarantee adequate gear lubrication and quiet operation. As part of the remanufacturing process, Zumbrota utilizes an exclusive hydro-blast rinse and sandblasting procedure on both internal and external parts. This is followed by a proprietary shot-peening deep cleaning process, which is said to set the standard for axle assembly remanufacturing and restores cases to an OEM finish. The cover is included with this assembly, though the necessary axle fluid is not provided and will need to be purchased separately.
