GM 8.5-inch 3.73 Posi Traction Axle Assembly

The Zumbrota Drivetrain RAA435-1868-P is a remanufactured axle assembly designed for 1996-1997 GM S10 and S15 vehicles equipped with the 8.5-inch rear end. It features a 3.73 gear ratio and a G80 Posi Traction differential, specifically for models with the ZR2 option (w/o AWD). This assembly is built to exacting standards, ensuring reliability and performance. The remanufacturing process for this axle assembly involves a comprehensive inspection and refurbishment. All tubes are straightened to OEM specifications and inspected for surface wear and cracks. A thorough 100% inspection is conducted on all internal parts, including the ring and pinion, internal gears, clutches, and carrier. Furthermore, all wearable parts such as bearings, seals, crush sleeves, pinion nuts, and shims are replaced with new components. Each housing is meticulously cleaned using a state-of-the-art hydro blasting and rinsing process, restoring it to an OEM finish. The correct rolling torque is established using precise inch-pound measurements to ensure optimal setup and longevity.
