GM LS 300mm Lock-Up Torque Converter

The Boss Hog 49453 Night Stalker Series torque converter is engineered for GM 4L60E, 4L65E, and 4L70E transmissions with LS type engines and a 1998-and-up 30-spline input shaft. This 300mm converter offers a stall range of 2,800 to 3,200 RPM, providing excellent driving characteristics for performance applications. Designed to overcome the limitations of factory converters, the 49453 features a strengthened design. It includes a modified heavy-duty stator, an extreme-duty lock-up liner, and new Torrington style bearings. These enhancements allow it to handle significantly more power and reduce heat generation compared to stock units. Key specifications include a factory 12-inch core diameter, a 11.063-inch factory bolt circle, and a 1.703-inch factory crank pilot diameter. The impeller hub is constructed from hardened chrome moly, and the unit is digitally balanced with 4-corner TIG welded fins or furnace brazing for durability. The converter is leak and pressure tested. For optimal results, it is recommended to use Type F transmission fluid and always install an additional transmission cooler. Blue Loctite should also be used during installation. Boss Hog advises that all advertised stall ranges are based on specific vehicle setups and may vary. The company recommends their "Street Bandit Series" for vehicles with upgraded intake, heads, headers, exhaust, cam, or gearing, and the "Out Law Series" for those with power adders like nitrous, turbochargers, superchargers, or a trans brake.
