The Mahle Motorsport 930083135-1 is a high-performance piston crafted for the Honda H22 2.2L engine. It is constructed from forged 4032 aluminum, a material known for its strength and resistance to thermal expansion, making it suitable for demanding applications. This piston features a dome design with four valve reliefs, accommodating larger or higher-lift camshafts. The specified compression ratio is 12.1:1, with a crown volume of 9.8cc. The piston dimensions include an 87.25mm bore, a 31mm compression height (CH), and it is designed to work with a 143mm connecting rod and a 22mm wrist pin. The piston mass is 338g, and the wrist pin mass is 101g. It utilizes a floating pin style. Specific construction details include a pin wall thickness of 0.197 inches and a gas-nitrided stainless steel UCR (Under Crown Ring). The piston ring set is not included, and the ring thickness is specified as 1.2mm for the UCR and LCR (Lower Compression Ring), and 2.8mm for the OCR (Oil Control Ring). The LCR is made of cast iron with a phosphate coating, while the OCR is chrome-plated stainless steel. An important application note for this piston is that it is specifically intended for use in factory FRM (Fiber-Reinforced Matrix) cylinders only. It is sold individually as a single piston.
