Gold Valve Cartridge Emulator

The Race Tech Gold Valve Cartridge Emulator (FEGV S3801) is engineered to transform damping rod forks, which are often harsh yet prone to bottoming. Unlike older methods of altering spring rates, oil viscosity, or damping hole size, these tunable valves effectively make damping rod forks perform like sophisticated cartridge forks. This design also allows for complete adjustability to suit various riding conditions and individual rider preferences. Installation involves disassembling the forks and removing the damping rods. For stubborn damping rod Allen bolts, techniques like using a drift to impact the bolt head or leaving the spring in place while compressing the fork can help loosen them. A specialized Damping Rod Holding Tool (TFDH 01) is available for particularly difficult bolts. In many cases, seals do not need to be removed if a complete overhaul isn't being performed; the damping rod can be removed by taking out the fork spring and bolt, then turning the fork upside down. Careful installation of the bottoming cone is crucial. The emulator must fit securely into the cup on top of the damping rod, completely covering the opening. Some non-standard damping rods may require an Emulator Adapter, which is placed between the rod and the emulator. Adapters can sometimes be directional, requiring attention to orientation. Piston rings are included on some adapters if the stock ones are inadequate or missing. Certain damping rod types may require machining on a lathe, and most adjustable rebound adjusters will be disabled after installation. Additionally, stock valves, linear valves, TCV Travel Control Valves, and anti-dive systems present on some original forks will be removed or disabled when installing the Gold Valve Cartridge Emulators.
