It helps insulate the turbocharger's hot side, preventing heat from damaging surrounding engine bay components like plastic and rubber hoses, wiring, and painted surfaces. This can also prevent localized high-temperature areas that may cause engine damage, such as blown head gaskets in turbocharged vehicles.

This blanket maintains the turbo's hot side heat, improving exhaust gas efficiency. By keeping exhaust gases hotter, they expand more, increasing pressure and flow rate, which leads to faster turbine spool-up and improved turbo response, reducing turbo lag and creating a more linear power curve. It also helps keep the turbo's cold side cooler by containing heat on the hot side, leading to denser intake air and increased engine power. The blanket has a contact surface heat resistance of 1000℃ and radiated heat resistance of 1350℃. It includes two springs for installation.
