It utilizes exhaust gas pressure to rotate a turbine wheel, which in turn rotates a compressor wheel to provide supercharging. GReddy emphasizes a "hybrid turbine" approach, carefully selecting the most efficient size, shape, and number of wheels for both the turbine and compressor, combined with a matching housing, to achieve high output even with smaller displacement engines.
