The SPELAB Grid Heater Delete/Upgrade Plate is engineered for 2007-2024 Ram 2500 and 3500 trucks equipped with the 6.7L Cummins diesel engine. This billet aluminum plate is CNC machined for precision and features an anodized, brushed finish for durability and corrosion resistance. It directly replaces the restrictive factory grid heater, a component prone to carbon buildup and potential terminal-bolt failure that can cause significant engine damage. By removing the stock grid heater, this upgrade offers several advantages. It improves airflow to the engine, reduces intake air temperatures for enhanced efficiency and power, and lowers the electrical load on your vehicle's system. The streamlined design also contributes to a cleaner and more accessible engine bay layout. This makes it an ideal upgrade for towing, performance builds, and owners seeking improved reliability. This grid heater delete plate is suitable for 2007-2012, 2013-2018, and 2019+ Dodge Ram 2500/3500 6.7L Diesel models. While it enhances performance, please note that removing the grid heater will trigger a Check Engine Light (CEL) due to the disconnected factory component. A custom tune or a plug-in grid heater fooler/resistor cable is required to clear the code. Additionally, owners in regions with harsh winters may need to rely on their factory engine block heater for cold starts.
