GT High Lift Hot Rod Cam Set

The Ford Racing GT High Lift Hot Rod Cam Set is engineered to provide a distinctive "lopey" idle, evoking the classic sound of 1960s muscle cars for 3-valve 4.6L or 5.4L engines. This upgrade is suitable for both naturally aspirated and supercharged applications and is specifically recommended for the 2005-2010 Mustang GT 4.6L 3 Valve engine. The set increases valve lift from the stock 11 mm/0.433" to 12 mm/0.472", with intake and exhaust durations of 221 and 240 degrees respectively (@ 0.050" lift) and a lobe separation of 110 degrees. It is compatible with production valve springs, followers, and lash adjusters, supporting operation up to 6800 rpm. For optimal performance and to achieve significant power gains, the use of long tube headers is recommended. Additionally, Ford Racing suggests complementary components such as their 4.6L High Flow Intake (M-9424-463V), M-9926-3V 62mm throttle body, and M-6049-N3VPA/M-6050-N3VPA high performance CNC ported 3-Valve Cylinder Heads, although these specific cylinder heads are no longer produced. An approximately 50 hp gain can be expected when used with the stock intake manifold and compatible CNC heads at 6500 rpm. Crucially, a custom calibration is required for this cam set, and it is not included. Recommended WOT cam timing values are provided within the installation instructions. Note that re-manufactured engines typically require undersize cam journals, while these cams feature standard size journals, which may require attention during installation.
