GTR Style Functional Ram Air Hood

Constructed from hand-laid fiberglass and resin using a Vacuum Infusion Process, this hood features a fully functional ram air tunnel that can help direct cold intake air to compatible performance air intake systems from brands like Airaid and K&N. It utilizes factory hinges and latches for installation and is finished with a smooth gel coat on both surfaces to simplify prep work and reduce finishing time. It is important to note that FRP (fiberglass) hoods are typically thicker than factory metal hoods, which may require adjustments to rubber stoppers, potentially trimming or removing them entirely. Fender alignment might also need adjustment to ensure a proper fit. The manufacturer recommends that customers dry-fit the product before any prep or painting work, as this hood requires hand-finishing for optimal paint preparation and fitment, and is not a simple bolt-on installation. Some grinding may be necessary to achieve a proper fit. Furthermore, all carbon fiber and fiberglass hoods are incompatible with OEM gas strut hood lifters. Using OEM lifters with a lightweight composite hood can cause stress, cracking, and will void the warranty. It is highly recommended to use aftermarket lower-weight-rated lifters if gas struts are desired. Additionally, hood pins are strongly recommended with all composite hoods as a fail-safe measure in conjunction with the stock hood latch, given the lighter weight of composite materials and the bonded latch mechanism. This hood is shipped unfinished and requires prep work before painting.
