GTW3884R Ball Bearing Turbocharger

The Garrett GTW3884R, also known as the GTW6265R, is a high-performance ball bearing turbocharger designed to provide robust power output. It features a 62.3mm compressor wheel inducer and a 62.6mm exducer with a trim of 54, paired with a 74.2mm turbine wheel inducer and a 64.6mm exducer with a trim of 76. The turbo boasts a .78 A/R with a T3 divided turbine housing and a 3-inch V-band outlet, enabling a potential flow of up to 800 HP. As part of Garrett's GTW Series, this turbocharger is positioned as a performance-oriented alternative to the widely used 6266 size turbos, aiming to deliver excellent performance at a competitive price point. The compressor housing is constructed with a T04S Frame, featuring a 4-inch inlet, a 2.5-inch outlet, and integrated, machined anti-surge technology for enhanced airflow management. It is important to note that the GTW Series turbochargers are not direct drop-in replacements for Garrett's smaller frame GT or GTX Series turbochargers. The external dimensions of the GTW Series bearing housing (CHRA) are physically larger and bulkier than those of the GT and GTX series. Additionally, the GTW Series Ball Bearing CHRA requires different oil return fittings than the small frame Garrett GT or GTX Series turbochargers.
