The Bad News Racing BNR GTX250 is a 1.4T turbocharger designed as an ultimate stock replacement, engineered to deliver 250HP by supporting over 27 pounds per minute of airflow. Building on the GTX14 foundation, the GTX250 features a redesigned, extended tip, billet CNC machined compressor wheel. This advanced design offers over 10% better flow compared to standard wheels of identical inlet diameter. Unlike cast wheels, the billet aluminum construction provides superior durability by eliminating air pockets. The turbocharger also incorporates a larger turbine wheel, a key advancement for increasing power from a stock frame turbo. Installation is a direct swap with the factory unit, requiring no expensive custom piping. However, larger fuel injectors are necessary. The product information suggests 42LB injectors are compatible with an FPCM upgrade and 93 octane fuel, while recommending 52LB injectors for 93 octane that can also support E85 with an FPCM upgrade. For higher boost pressures, 60LB injectors are recommended, with an FPCM upgrade needed above approximately 25 PSI for increased fuel pressure. Additionally, the product is designed and tested with BNR Tuning, and compatibility with other tuning solutions may vary.
