Utilizing proprietary Garrett Motion computer simulation and CFD analysis, the GTX GEN II compressor wheels are optimized for maximum efficiency and mass flow, offering enthusiasts a broader power band and increased output potential when tuning their vehicles. This turbocharger is equipped with an 8mm dual ceramic ball bearing cartridge for reduced shaft motion, enhancing turbo response and reliability. The GEN II GTX Series features fully-machined compressor inlets, outlets, and ported shrouds for precise tolerances. Its redesigned, high-flowing compressor housing is specifically matched to the new compressor wheel. While GEN II compressor housings are not interchangeable with GEN I wheels, the turbochargers themselves are outline interchangeable with equivalent GT and GTX GEN I products, simplifying installation with existing piping. A notable feature is the fully machined speed sensor port on the new compressor housings, which accepts a Garrett Motion speed sensor (sold separately). This allows tuners to monitor operating conditions for precise fine-tuning. The port comes plugged from the factory and can be accessed with a 5mm Allen key. The GTX3582R Gen 2 is compatible with all existing GT and GTX turbine housing kits.
