The turbocharger utilizes a dual ceramic ball bearing cartridge for enhanced lifespan and shaft balance, while the water-cooled center housing (CHRA) minimizes operating temperatures. This unit is configured with a 70mm compressor inducer (94mm exducer, 56 trim, 0.60 A/R) and is suitable for engines ranging from 2.0L to 7.0L, capable of producing 475 to 950 horsepower. The turbine side features an 82mm inducer, 75mm exducer, and an 84 trim. It is exclusively offered with divided turbine housings and a V-band compressor outlet for specific applications, including LS engines. Garrett emphasizes that performance results are highly dependent on vehicle modifications and tuning. The horsepower figures are based on compressor map choke flow, representing potential flywheel horsepower. It's crucial to note the warning regarding the maximum allowable turbocharger speed of 118krpm; operating above this speed carries risks of damage and premature failure.
