Crafted from extra-strong forged 4340 chromoly steel, these rods are designed to provide superior strength and reliability over stock components, enabling higher RPMs and the use of upgraded turbos or superchargers. Key design features include ARP 2000 rod bolts for enhanced durability and a lightweight H-beam design optimized for a high power-to-weight ratio. Each set is precisely balanced to +/- 1 gram and honed to exact tolerances on USA-made Sunnen machinery, ensuring critical roundness and proper clearances. The rods are also tanged for rod bearing security. An optional rifle drilling upgrade is available for increased wristpin and bushing life, which is highly recommended for longevity in street-driven vehicles. These 144x20mm connecting rods are specifically compatible with VW/Audi engines that utilize factory pistons with 20mm wrist pins and non-tapered rods. Many 1.8T 20V (06A) and 2.0T FSI (EA113) engines may use tapered rods or different wrist pin sizes; for these applications, aftermarket pistons may be required.
