H-Beam Connecting Rods

The Integrated Engineering forged drop-in connecting rods are engineered to replace weak stock units in VW and Audi 1.8T 20V 06A engines, enabling the use of larger turbos and more boost while maintaining reliability. These rods are forged from vacuum-drawn 2-piece 4340 chrome moly steel and feature an upgraded H-beam design for increased strength and durability. The design is computer-optimized for unique VW/Audi applications and honed to exacting tolerances of 250 millionths of an inch. They include IE Spec ARP 2000 rod bolts. An optional forced pin oiling (rifle drilling) feature is available separately for enhanced wrist pin longevity, recommended for street-driven vehicles with higher mileage. These connecting rods are designed as a drop-in replacement for stock pistons that use a 19mm tapered wrist pin. Each set is balanced to within +/- 1 gram. The product is compatible with a wide range of Audi and Volkswagen models, including A4, A6, TT, A3, S3, Golf, GTI, Jetta, GLI, Beetle, Passat, EOS, and Corrado, primarily focusing on 1.8T 20V and 2.0T FSI EA111 engines. Installation requires careful attention to detail. The ARP 2000 rod bolts should be torqued to 50 ft-lbs using ARP assembly lubricant, with a recommended three-step torque and loosen process, or measured for .006” of stretch. It is recommended to seek professional help for installation and tuning, as improper installation or tuning are common causes of connecting rod failure. Oiling system health is also essential. The maximum recommended RPM limit is 8500 RPM with ARP 2000 bolts; for higher RPMs, ARP 625+ bolts are suggested.
