Utilizing modern CAD drafting and FEA analysis, the H-beam design is optimized for maximum strength and minimal weight. These rods are forged from vacuum-drawn 4340 Chrome Moly steel through a two-piece forging process to ensure high fatigue life. Each rod undergoes a multi-stage heat treatment process to maximize fatigue strength and dimensional stability, ensuring the big ends remain round for reliable bearing service. They come standard with ARP 2000 rod bolts. The manufacturing process includes full machining, shot peening, and honing to tolerances of around 250 millionths of an inch. Each set is balanced to within +/- 1 gram and magnaflux inspected for quality assurance. These Tuscan connecting rods are specifically designed for 2.0T TSI engines, requiring the use of aftermarket pistons with a 22mm wrist pin. They are application-specific, with unique feature sets optimized for each engine's demands, particularly focusing on providing a stable platform for the connecting rod bearing to enhance reliability. The I-beam design offers significant bending and torsional stiffness, and the unique beam shape is validated to distribute high compressive loading effectively. These rods have been combination tested to over 1000 bhp on 4-cylinder engines. Fitment is specified for various Audi and Volkswagen models equipped with the 2.0T TSI engine, including specific notes for certain chassis and the requirement for aftermarket pistons with a 22mm wrist pin.
