The BorgWarner 30783079 is a genuine Volvo Haldex pre-charge pump, specifically designed for Generation 2 and 3 Haldex systems. This critical component uses hydraulic pressure to engage the clutches within the All-Wheel Drive system, ensuring proper torque transfer to all wheels. This pump is known to be a common failure point in Volvo vehicles manufactured between 2003 and 2010. Failure is often linked to a clogged Haldex filter cartridge, which causes the pump to work excessively and eventually fail. It is highly recommended to replace the Haldex filter (part number 30787687) and use the specified Volvo branded Haldex oil (part number 31367940 or Febi Bilstein 850ml Haldex Oil) when installing this new pump. The pump comes complete with a lock nut, a pair of fitting bolts, and oil seals, facilitating a comprehensive replacement. It is crucial to ensure your vehicle is equipped with a Generation 2 or 3 Haldex pump (characterized by a round-ended pump) and not a Generation 4 pump (which has a nipple shape on the end) before ordering.
