Happy Meal Clutch and Flywheel Kit

The Flyin Miata Happy Meal is an upgraded clutch and flywheel kit designed as a direct replacement for 1990-2005 Mazda Miatas, including those with 1.6L engines. This kit aims to improve performance and driver feel with a new friction disc featuring a thinner disc and a lower-profile marcel spring, which reduces pedal throw and the need for frequent adjustments. The comprehensive package includes a Flyin Miata clutch, a lightweight Flyin Miata flywheel, a clutch switch override, pilot bearing, and release bearing. Customers can select between two specifications for the clutch. The Level 1 clutch is rated for 318 lb-ft of torque at the crank, suitable for Stage 1 or custom kits with stock engines, offering near-stock pedal pressure and smooth engagement. The Level 2 organic clutch provides higher pedal pressure and a 353 lb-ft torque rating, making it exceptionally robust. Both clutch levels utilize a steelback copper woven organic friction material, with the Level 2 having a slightly heavier disc and pressure plate for its increased capacity. The lightweight flywheel may introduce minor, harmless drivetrain noise during closed-throttle deceleration. Installation recommendations include bypassing the starter interlock with the included clip for easier starting and reduced wear on the thrust bearing. It is also strongly advised to replace rear main and transmission input seals during installation, as access is limited. For 5-speed transmissions, the transmission input gasket is required, while 6-speed transmissions do not need it. The kit comes with a 90-day warranty.
