The Flyin' Miata 1990-05 Hard Dog Sport "Fat Boy" roll bar is a street-oriented safety component for NA and NB Miatas. It features 1.75" diameter tubing and harness mounting points, combining the geometry of the Sport with the thicker tubing of the Hard Core. This roll bar is SCCA Solo I legal and compatible with stock glass windows and aftermarket windows that are close to stock size, with a maximum window border width of 32-1/4". It is available with no, single, or double diagonals.

The Flyin' Miata 1990-05 Hard Dog Sport "Fat Boy" roll bar is an enhanced safety and performance upgrade designed for all NA and NB Miatas. This popular street option utilizes the stronger 1.75" diameter tubing found in the Hard Core series, while retaining the geometry of the Sport model. It includes harness mounting points and is available with no diagonals for maximum rearward visibility, a single diagonal for enhanced rigidity, or a double diagonal for a balance between the two. This roll bar is SCCA Solo I legal, offering a significant safety improvement for track days and spirited driving. The rear supports are spaced to accommodate stock glass windows, which typically measure around 32-1/4" at their widest point near the top. For applications requiring a harness bar, a bolt-in option is available, as some SCCA regulations do not permit harnesses to share mounting points with other components. Installation involves drilling into the vehicle's body. Some users have reported needing to relocate rear ABS wiring passthroughs as they may interfere with the rear mounting plates. While instructions are not included with the product, they can be found on the Hard Dog website.
