Hawk Performance Brake Pads

The Hawk HB572G.570 brake pads are engineered with a ferro-carbon friction material, specifically the DTC 60 compound, for extreme racing conditions. They are noted for their superior release and torque control, along with very low pad and rotor wear, making them suitable for serious racers with track experience who have encountered issues with overheating or insufficient bite from less aggressive compounds. The DTC-60 compound operates within a temperature range of 400-1600°F, with an optimal range of 600-1200°F. While they deliver high torque, they produce less initial brake torque compared to the DTC-70 compound. Hawk suggests using DTC-60 on the front axle with DTC-70 on the rear when split friction between axles is desired. Alternatively, on lighter cars, they can be used on the front with DTC-30 on the rear. For heavier cars like Corvettes, Mustangs, Porsches, and BMWs, DTC-60 is often used on the rear axle in conjunction with DTC-70 on the front. It is crucial to understand that these are not entry-level race compounds and are explicitly not intended for street use.
