The IPD HD Front Lower Control Arm is engineered to solve the prevalent bushing failures found in the P2 chassis Volvo S60 and V70. For years, IPD has focused on developing a solution to the issues common across these vehicles, particularly the 2001-2007 S60/V70 models. Unlike other aftermarket options that may use more rubber without effectively addressing the core problem or polyurethane that fails to adhere, this IPD HD control arm utilizes a superior rubber compound. This compound contains significantly less recycled material, which enhances its ability to recover from stress and adhere firmly to the metal components. This construction prevents the cracks, tears, and separations that plague factory bushings, ensuring consistent performance. A failure in the original control arm bushings can cause alignment issues under acceleration and deceleration, even if the alignment seems correct when the vehicle is at rest. This results in inconsistent steering response, making the vehicle pull in different directions unpredictably, impacting braking and stability over uneven roads. This aluminum control arm is specifically designed for the following Volvo models: 2001-2006 S60 & S60R, 2001-2006 V70 & V70R. For 2007 S60 and S60R models, it fits only those equipped with aluminum control arms and a chassis number up to and including 626501. For 2007 V70 and V70R models with aluminum control arms, it fits only those with Factory Code 1 up to chassis number 647148, or Factory Code 2 up to chassis number 645617. Note that 2007 models may be equipped with either aluminum or steel control arms, which are not interchangeable.
