HD Intercooler Upgrade Kit

The VRSF HD Intercooler Upgrade Kit is engineered to replace the inefficient factory intercooler in select BMW models equipped with N20, N26, N47, and N55 engines. The stock intercooler can become heat-soaked under these conditions, leading to reduced horsepower and an increased risk of pre-detonation. The core of the VRSF intercooler is a proprietary, high-density bar and plate design with a staggered and offset internal and external fin pack. This construction offers significantly greater surface area for enhanced heat absorption and dissipation compared to the OEM tube-and-fin design. VRSF offers two core options: the 5" Performance HD, rated for up to 600 wheel horsepower, and the 6.5" Competition HD, rated for up to 800 wheel horsepower. Both cores are built for durability and are better equipped to withstand road debris. Installation is designed to be straightforward, typically completed in under 1.5 hours, and includes all necessary components for replacing the OEM intercooler. The kit features cast end tanks optimized via CFD analysis to work seamlessly with both factory and aftermarket charge pipes. Additionally, the intercooler is equipped with tabs to retain the factory fan shroud. A thermal dispersant coating is applied after pressure testing to ensure a leak-free experience and provide superior protection against environmental factors. The intercooler is compatible with Left Hand Drive (LHD), Right Hand Drive (RHD), and all XI models. This intercooler is specifically designed to fit a range of BMW models including the 2012-2018 F30/F31/F36 3 Series (320i, 328i, 335i), 2012-2018 F32/F33 4 Series (428i, 435i), 2014-2018 F22/F23 2 Series (228i, M235i), 2012-2018 F20/F21 1 Series (including M135i), and the 2016-2019 F87 M2. A specific note for F23/F33 models indicates they are limited to the 5" Street intercooler option only. All VRSF intercoolers come with a lifetime warranty.
