The Autotech HD Valve Spring Set is engineered for high-performance 1.8L and 2.0L 16V valvetrains, aiming to enhance engine capabilities. These stiffer springs are designed to safely extend the operating range of your engine to the 8,000 rpm mark, providing a significant increase in usable powerband. In addition to enabling higher RPMs, this SportTuned valve spring set effectively eliminates the risk of coil bind when used with high-lift camshafts. When installed correctly, they are capable of supporting camshaft lifts of up to 0.500 inches. Key specifications include an installed height of 1.240 inches and a seat pressure of 96.6 lbs, crucial for maintaining valve control at higher engine speeds. For proper installation and to prevent damage to the aluminum cylinder head casting, it is essential to always retain the lower valve spring seats. The product is intended for use in high-performance engine builds where increased valve control and higher rev limits are desired. This valve spring set is specifically designed to fit the following Volkswagen models with 16V 1.8L and 2.0L engines: 1987-1988 Scirocco, 1987-1992 GTI and Jetta, and Passat 16V B3/B4 models.
