The ARP 154-3601 is a S/B Ford head bolt set designed for Small Block Ford V8 engines. It features 7/16-14 thread pitch and is made from 8740 Chrome Moly material. The set includes reduced wrenching hex bolts with a wide area flanged head, eliminating the need to remove the valve train for cylinder head retorquing. The ARP 154-3601 S/B Ford Head Bolt Set is engineered for Small Block Ford V8 engines, specifically the 289 and 302 Windsor variants. This kit is designed to fit with factory heads or specific Edelbrock heads (models 60259 & 60379). The bolts feature a 7/16-14 thread pitch and are constructed from durable 8740 Chrome Moly material, finished with a black oxide coating. These high-performance head bolts boast a tensile strength rating of 180,000 psi, which is 15% stronger than Grade 8 fasteners, ensuring superior clamping force and reliability. The design includes a reduced wrenching hex and a wide area flanged head, which is a key feature allowing for cylinder head retorquing without the need to remove the valve train. This can significantly simplify maintenance and tuning procedures. Each kit is sold as a set and comes complete with hardened, parallel-ground washers for even load distribution. The bolts are available in two lengths: long bolts measure 4” from head to end, and short bolts are 2-3/8” from head to end, ensuring proper fitment for the intended application.
