Head Cooling Modification Kit

The Lightning Force Performance LF1225 Even Flow Generation 2 Head Cooling Mod is engineered to solve the problem of the driver's side head on DOHC 4.6L Ford engines running excessively hot. This condition is caused by inadequate cooling to the #7 and #8 cylinder jackets, leading to hot spots and potential detonation. By installing this kit, a direct cold path is created from the radiator to the affected cylinders, significantly increasing coolant flow. The kit comprises a precision-machined stainless steel fitting that installs in the rear coolant jacket on the driver's side head, a custom-fabricated aluminum coolant T for the upper radiator hose, and high-temperature heater hose with adapters. Once installed, both cylinder heads will have their coolant flow restricted to an average of .350, ensuring direct cold radiator fluid circulation through both heads. This modification can be installed from the top of the car with the blower removed and does not require transmission removal. Each cooling T is pressure tested at 20-25 PSI to guarantee leak-free weld joints. The LFP Even Flow Cooling Kit is compatible with a range of Ford models: 1998 Cobra, 1999-2001 Cobra, 2003-2004 Cobra, and 2003-2004 Mach 1, including naturally aspirated and supercharged (Kenne Bell/Whipple) variants. However, it is important to note that this kit will NOT be a direct fit on Vortech and Paxton supercharged applications due to the necessary re-routing of the upper radiator hose. The kit is constructed from stainless steel and brass with a billet stainless steel head jacket finish and includes a hose clamp, hosing, and mounting hardware. It comes with a 1-year manufacturer warranty.
