The Dana 02-42820-01 is a drive axle assembly for Jeep Wrangler JK models. It features a direct bolt-in design and utilizes chromoly axle shafts for strength and performance. The assembly includes Spicer Life Series (SPL) 1350 u-joints for enhanced protection and retention, along with genuine Spicer gearing. This axle is engineered with thicker tubes and 1/4 inch steel brackets for improved durability and resistance to bending in off-road conditions. It also offers an optimized pinion angle for lifted vehicles and an increased gross axle weight rating (GAWR) to accommodate aftermarket upgrades.

This axle is equipped with an electronic locker and has a 5.38 gear ratio. The inner axle shaft has 30 splines, and the outer axle shaft has 32 splines.
