Overview

High-performance head studs significantly enhance an engine's capabilities by providing superior clamping force and durability compared to standard bolts. This is crucial for preventing head gasket failure under high stress conditions, as seen with increased horsepower and torque output. Milodon head studs are made from aircraft quality, 8740 chrome moly steel, providing 190,000 PSI tensile strength. They are ground and thread rolled after heat treat to assure exacting tolerances. Head stud kits include 4130 heat treated, parallel ground washers and high strength nuts.
