The primary tube outer diameter is 1 1/2 inches. Installation is intended as a direct bolt-on, though the tight engine bay of the 3000GT/Stealth may necessitate minor adjustments. These can include slight shaving of the rear motor mount bracket, minor tweaks to the oil dipstick tube, and adjustments to the connection pipe between the front and rear banks for a perfect, rattle-free fitment. The header includes a pre-welded O2 sensor bung, but users may need to extend wiring or relocate the bung for optimal sensor readings, depending on their specific year and emissions equipment setup. This exhaust header is specifically designed for the 1991-1999 Mitsubishi 3000GT (Z16A Chassis, naturally aspirated 3.0L 6G72 DOHC V6) and the 1991-1996 Dodge Stealth (naturally aspirated 3.0L 6G72 DOHC V6). It is explicitly NOT compatible with VR4, Twin Turbo, or turbocharged models due to differing exhaust routing and flange designs. Furthermore, it will not fit SOHC (Single Overhead Cam) 12-valve engines, as it is exclusively for DOHC (Dual Overhead Cam) 24-valve 3.0L 6G72 engines. These headers are sold as an off-road performance upgrade and may not be legal for street use in states with strict emissions laws, as they alter factory exhaust flow and may affect catalytic converter positions. It is recommended to check local laws before purchasing. While standard gaskets and hardware are included, for high-heat applications, using OEM Mitsubishi multi-layer steel gaskets or premium aftermarket copper gaskets is suggested for an optimal seal.
