Hedman Hedders has been manufacturing quality headers in the USA since 1954, and they've been manufacturing these Jeep CJ, SB Chevy V8 engine swap specific header model for over 20 years. Each set uses mild steel, smooth flowing, CNC mandrel bent tubes, that are hand-welded to ensure each pair is identical to the next. Hedman's unique, gasketless ball and socket collector design allows your Small Block Chevy exhaust system to bolt up, even if it is not perfectly aligned with the header collectors.

This set is part of Hedman's ELITE line of headers. Hedman ELITE headers have a heavy-duty design that uses stout 3/8 in. flanges, and thicker 14 gauge primary tubes. The heavier-duty construction of HEDMAN ELITE Hedders makes them ideal for high-performance engines and tow vehicles, both of which produce higher exhaust temperatures.

ELITE models have a MATTE-SILVER ceramic finish that can withstand temperatures up to 1400 degrees F. The coating looks great and keeps more heat in the tubes. This results in faster exhaust speeds for improved exhaust scavenging, and reduced underhood temperatures.

These LONG-TUBE headers are designed specifically for installing a Small Block Chevy 283-400 (Gen 1) engine into a 1976-1986 Jeep CJ5, CJ6 and CJ7. The smooth 1-5/8 in. tube design provides ample exhaust flow to let your CJ's transplanted 283-400 SB Chevy engine breathe easy, and produce maximum torque to power you through virtually any trail.

Each set includes a pair of gaskets, header flange bolts and collector bolts. No collector gasket is needed.
